MORC2 antisense RNA 1 (MORC2-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed as an antisense RNA to the MORC2 gene. It does not encode a protein. MORC2-AS1 has been implicated in the regulation of various biological processes, notably cell proliferation, apoptosis, and cell migration, primarily through modulating gene expression at the epigenetic and transcriptional level[6]. Like other lncRNA NATs (natural antisense transcripts), it may regulate the expression of its overlapping sense gene or other genes through chromatin modification and RNA interaction mechanisms[2].
