Motor nerve axon proteins are a diverse group of molecules found within the axons of motor neurons. These proteins play critical roles in the structure, function, and maintenance of motor neuron axons, which transmit electrical impulses from the central nervous system to muscles, enabling movement. The main categories include cytoskeletal proteins, motor proteins involved in intracellular transport, membrane-associated proteins for signal transmission and synapse formation, and regulatory or RNA-binding proteins that control local protein synthesis.
