Overview

MSL3 pseudogene 3 (MSL3P3) is a noncoding DNA sequence annotated as a pseudogene homologous to the MSL3 gene. Pseudogenes are genetic sequences that resemble protein-coding genes but lack the ability to code for a functional protein. Unlike the canonical MSL3 gene—which encodes a component of the MSL histone acetyltransferase complex involved in X-chromosome dosage compensation—MSL3P3 is not known to produce a protein or participate in cellular processes. There is no evidence supporting its role as a molecular target for drugs, nor is there evidence of functional or disease-associated activity[4][5]. If research specific to this pseudogene emerges, its functional classification may need to be updated.
