MT-ATP6 pseudogene 19 (MTATP6P19) is a human nuclear pseudogene, annotated in major gene databases including NCBI and GeneCards, with external references such as HGNC:52064 and NCBI Gene:107075275[8]. Pseudogenes like MTATP6P19 are genomic DNA sequences similar to normal genes but typically nonfunctional; they do not encode proteins and do not serve as enzymes, receptors, or other typical drug targets. No literature or curated database entry supports a role for MTATP6P19 in disease, drug interaction, biomarker utility, or any known molecular or biological function, distinguishing it from the true mitochondrial gene MT-ATP6 (which encodes a subunit of ATP synthase and is clinically important)[1][7][8].
