Target intelligence / Profile preview
MT-ATP6 pseudogene 23 (MTATP6P23) is a mitochondrial ATP synthase 6 pseudogene. It is a nuclear pseudogene related by sequence to the functional MT-ATP6 gene in mitochondrial DNA, but it is not expressed as a protein and has no known function or involvement in disease. MTATP6P23 is not a therapeutic target, and its listing as such is incorrect; the functional gene MT-ATP6 encodes the ATP synthase subunit a, critical for ATP production in mitochondria, but the pseudogene does not share these properties[1][5][3][4][7].
