The correct canonical form refers to the protein-coding gene MT-CO1 (Mitochondrially encoded cytochrome c oxidase I), which is unrelated in function to the pseudogene MTCO1P2. If your application requires a functional target, the appropriate choice would be the protein-coding MT-CO1 gene rather than its pseudogene MTCO1P2.
