Target intelligence / Profile preview
MT-CYB pseudogene 34 (MTCYBP34) is a human pseudogene that shares sequence similarity with the functional MT-CYB gene (mitochondrially encoded cytochrome b), a mitochondrial gene involved in the mitochondrial electron transport chain and essential for energy production[4]. Unlike the functional MT-CYB gene, MTCYBP34 does not encode a protein and has no known biological function, therapeutic relevance, diagnostic biomarker potential, or disease association. It is annotated as a pseudogene in genetic databases and therefore is not considered a therapeutic or drug target[4].
