Overview

MT-ND2 pseudogene 14 (MTND2P14) is a non-coding pseudogene listed in the HUGO Gene Nomenclature Committee (HGNC) database as a locus of mitochondrial origin[4]. Unlike its functional counterpart MT-ND2, which encodes a core subunit of mitochondrial NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase (Complex I), MTND2P14 is predicted to be non-functional and is not known to produce a protein product. It does not participate in mitochondrial electron transport or any characterized physiological or pathophysiological processes. There are no known drugs, biomarkers, or therapeutic implications directly associated with this pseudogene.
