Target intelligence / Profile preview
MT-ND6 pseudogene 1 (MTND6P1) is a pseudogene related in sequence to the active mitochondrially-encoded NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase core subunit 6 gene (MT-ND6), which is one of the seven mitochondrial genes encoding subunits of Complex I of the respiratory chain. However, as a pseudogene, it does not encode a functional protein and has no known role in mitochondrial electron transport, energy metabolism, or cellular physiology.
