Overview

MT-RNR2-like 6 (MTRNR2L6) is a gene in humans, annotated as a pseudogene on chromosome 7. It is part of the family of nuclear genes that are similar to MT-RNR2, a mitochondrial gene encoding the Humanin peptide. Humanin-like 6 is predicted to have receptor antagonist activity and may play a neuroprotective or antiapoptotic role, though direct evidence of expression and function in humans is lacking. MTRNR2L6 is not recognized as a classical therapeutic target (receptor, enzyme, transporter, etc.) due to its pseudogene status and uncertain biological activity[2][4][7][8].
