The phrase "Mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue activation" refers to the functional state or process by which Mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) becomes immunologically active in response to antigenic stimulation. MALT itself is a diffuse collection of secondary lymphoid tissues critical for immune responses at mucosal surfaces. However, "activation" is a broad immunological concept and not a specific molecule, receptor, or discrete therapeutic target amenable to direct drug intervention.
