Target intelligence / Profile preview
MRP2 (ABCC2) is an ATP-binding cassette transporter primarily expressed on the apical membrane of hepatocytes, renal proximal tubular cells, enterocytes, and syncytiotrophoblasts. It functions as an efflux pump for a broad range of compounds, including conjugated organic anions, xenobiotics, and bilirubin. Mutations in ABCC2 cause Dubin-Johnson syndrome, and MRP2 contributes to multi-drug resistance in cancer.
