Multidrug resistance-associated protein 4 (MRP4), also known as ABCC4, is an ATP-binding cassette transporter that mediates the efflux of a wide range of endogenous and exogenous organic anionic compounds across cellular membranes. It plays a significant role in drug resistance, cancer biology, platelet function, and immune cell migration. MRP4 regulates intracellular cyclic nucleotide levels and is involved in cellular protection mechanisms. It is considered a promising target for modulating drug resistance in cancer therapy.
