Overview

MYC is a proto-oncogene encoding a transcription factor that regulates the expression of genes involved in cell growth, proliferation, metabolism, apoptosis, and differentiation. It forms a heterodimer with MAX to bind DNA and activate/repress gene expression. MYC is frequently dysregulated in cancer, driving uncontrolled proliferation and tumor development.
