MYCL pseudogene 1 (MYCLP1)

MYCL pseudogene 1 (MYCLP1) is a processed pseudogene of the MYCL (L-myc) gene, a member of the myc oncogene family. Unlike the functional MYCL1 gene which encodes a transcription factor implicated in cancer, MYCLP1 does not encode a functional protein due to its pseudogenic nature (e.g., frameshifts, premature stop codons). Therefore, MYCLP1 itself does not serve as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or classical drug target. No therapies or biomarker roles have been associated with it, and there is no evidence for a direct biological function or disease association. It is not considered a therapeutic target and is not actionable in the context of drug discovery or molecular targeting.
