Target intelligence / Profile preview

Mycobacterium tuberculosis Antigen TB10.4 (TB10.4)

Target
TB10.4
Molecular classification
ESAT-6-like protein, Antigen
01

Overview

TB10.4 is a secreted ESAT‑6-like protein from *Mycobacterium tuberculosis*, strongly recognized by host adaptive immunity through multiple epitopes presented on both class I and II MHC molecules. Its robust immunogenicity makes it valuable for diagnostics as well as subunit vaccine development. However, some evidence suggests it may act partly as a decoy antigen during natural infection.
