01

Overview

Myeloid cell surface proteins are a diverse group of proteins expressed on the surface of cells derived from the myeloid lineage (monocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells, granulocytes, megakaryocytes, and erythrocytes). These proteins serve as markers for identifying myeloid cell subtypes and play critical roles in immune response regulation, cell signaling, migration, and interaction with other immune cells. They are important in sensing infection or tissue injury, regulating recruitment and differentiation, mediating phagocytosis, and modulating inflammation. These proteins are used as diagnostic/prognostic biomarkers in hematological malignancies and as therapeutic targets.
