The myeloid-derived suppressor cell (MDSC) stimulation pathway refers to the molecular and cellular mechanisms that promote the expansion, activation, and immunosuppressive function of MDSCs. MDSCs are a heterogeneous population of immature myeloid cells with potent immunosuppressive activity, particularly in pathological conditions such as cancer, chronic infection, autoimmunity, trauma, and sepsis. The stimulation pathway encompasses various signaling cascades and environmental cues that drive the recruitment and functional polarization of these cells. Key molecular mechanisms include NF-κB signaling, STAT3 pathway, TLR signaling, Arginase 1 & iNOS, Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS), and Adenosine Production.
