MYH9 divergent transcript (MYH9-DT) is a human long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) gene that is transcribed from a locus near the MYH9 gene. As a divergent transcript, it is transcribed in the direction opposite to MYH9, often sharing a "bidirectional promoter" region. While the precise biological and disease-related functions of MYH9-DT remain to be fully elucidated, lncRNAs of this type typically participate in transcriptional or epigenetic regulation of neighboring genes. There is currently no direct evidence that MYH9-DT serves as a therapeutic molecular target, nor is it established as a biomarker or drug target. No common approved drugs or mechanisms of action have been described for this RNA. Supporting Details and Caveats: - MYH9-DT is not the same as MYH9, which is a protein-coding gene for myosin-9 (non-muscle myosin IIA), a protein involved in cell structure and motility and a topic of interest in tumor biology. - The MYH9-DT gene is referenced as an RNA gene associated with various regulatory RNAs and not as a coding gene for a protein or classic therapeutic target. - Its function is most likely regulatory (like many divergent lncRNAs) but remains poorly defined in public databases as of now. - There is no reported evidence that MYH9-DT directly interacts with drugs or acts as a classic disease biomarker.
