Overview

N-acetyltransferase domain-containing protein 1 (NATD1) is a protein encoded by the *NATD1* gene on human chromosome 17. It is a member of the N-acetyltransferase family, characterized by a conserved acetyltransferase domain, which generally catalyzes the transfer of acetyl groups to substrate proteins or other molecules. The exact biological substrates and physiological role of NATD1 are not well established, and current evidence does not identify NATD1 as a validated therapeutic drug target. Its expression has been observed across multiple human tissues, and it is classified primarily as an intracellular enzyme. There are currently no specific drugs, mechanisms of action, biomarker value, or major safety concerns associated with this target in the scientific or medical literature. NATD1 is a protein-coding gene with limited functional annotation. There is currently no evidence in major drug, target, or disease association databases (as of 2025) that designates NATD1 as a direct therapeutic target.
