NAALADL2 antisense RNA 1 (NAALADL2-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA gene located on chromosome 3 in humans. It is transcribed antisense to the large NAALADL2 protein-coding gene, which itself is implicated in cancer biology and cell adhesion mechanisms through its extensive copy number variation and transcriptional regulation. The specific biological function, clinical relevance, and molecular interactions of NAALADL2-AS1 have not been defined in the current scientific literature. Unlike its protein-coding partner or other antisense RNAs in the region (such as NAALADL2-AS2), NAALADL2-AS1 has not been validated as a therapeutic target, disease biomarker, or drug interaction partner.
