NACA pseudogene 5 (NACAP5)

NACA pseudogene 5 (NACAP5) is a pseudogene located on human chromosome 4 (chr4:17552117-17552752, hg38). It is a member of the NACA gene family, whose functional member encodes the nascent polypeptide-associated complex alpha subunit (NACA). NACAP5 itself does not encode a functional protein and is not known to have an established biological function, disease association, or role as a drug target. Like other pseudogenes, it may possess potential regulatory activity at the RNA level, but no specific data for NACAP5 have been reported in the current literature.
