Target intelligence / Profile preview
NADH–ubiquinone oxidoreductase chain 1 (ND1) is a core subunit of mitochondrial respiratory chain Complex I, essential for electron transfer from NADH to ubiquinone, coupled with proton translocation across the inner mitochondrial membrane. It plays a critical role in cellular energy production through oxidative phosphorylation. Mutations in ND1 are associated with various human diseases.
