Target intelligence / Profile preview
The NADH dehydrogenase subunit 6 pseudogene (ENSG00000226509) is a non-functional genomic sequence similar to the mitochondrial gene coding for NADH dehydrogenase subunit 6 (ND6), a core subunit of complex I in the mitochondrial respiratory chain. This pseudogene does not encode a translatable protein nor participate in mitochondrial electron transport or energy metabolism. Pathological and therapeutic relevance is confined to the coding MT-ND6 gene, not this pseudogene.
