NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase subunit B9 pseudogene 2 (NDUFB9P2) is a processed pseudogene related to the protein-coding gene NDUFB9, which encodes a subunit of mitochondrial complex I (NADH dehydrogenase [ubiquinone] 1 beta subcomplex subunit 9)[1][4]. Pseudogenes like NDUFB9P2 generally arise from duplication or retrotransposition events and do not encode a functional protein[4].
