NADPH oxidase 1 (Nox1)

Target
Nox1
Molecular classification
Enzyme, NADPH oxidase
01

Overview

NADPH oxidase 1 (Nox1) is an enzyme that catalyzes the production of superoxide, a reactive oxygen species, using electrons from NADPH. It plays a role in redox signaling, epithelial immunity, and cell growth. Nox1 is implicated in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis, cancer, and other diseases. ML171 is a selective inhibitor of Nox1.
