Nanog homeobox pseudogene 10 (NANOGP10) is one of several processed pseudogenes derived from the Nanog homeobox gene, which itself encodes a key transcription factor involved in embryonic stem cell pluripotency[1][5]. NANOGP10 is located on the X chromosome (Xp11.3) and lacks introns and protein-coding capacity[5]. Unlike the canonical Nanog protein and functionally active paralog NanogP8, NANOGP10 does not encode a protein nor does it regulate stem cell pluripotency, differentiation, or cancer biology. It is classified as a pseudogene and does not function as a therapeutic target, biomarker, or participant in drug mechanisms[1][5]. There is no evidence linking NANOGP10 to disease or to biological functions beyond its evolutionary history as a Non-functional processed pseudogene within the Nanog family[5].
