Nanog homeobox pseudogene 11 (NANOGP11) is part of a family of NANOG pseudogenes generated during human evolution, with NANOGP11 being a processed, intronless, non-protein-coding locus. While the original NANOG protein is a master transcription factor for pluripotency and self-renewal in embryonic stem cells[2][3][5], NANOGP11 itself does not encode a functional product or participate in stem cell regulation, reprogramming, or disease processes[8][3]. Its presence in the genome reflects molecular evolutionary history rather than a role in cellular physiology or therapeutic potential.
