This target is a natural antisense transcript located opposite the DPY19L1 gene (ENSG00000146006), which encodes a conserved multi-transmembrane protein involved in neuronal migration and cell development[1][3]. Antisense transcripts like this are non-coding RNAs that can regulate the expression of their sense (protein-coding) counterparts through epigenetic, transcriptional, or post-transcriptional mechanisms, including modulation of chromatin architecture, mRNA stability, or transcriptional interference[2][4]. The functional roles of such antisense transcripts are an area of active research. There is currently no evidence this particular antisense transcript constitutes a canonical therapeutic target or has a direct role in human disease, nor are there any drugs known to act upon it.
