Natural Cytotoxicity Triggering Receptor 1 (NKp46)

Target
NKp46
Molecular classification
Type I transmembrane glycoprotein, Natural cytotoxicity receptor (NCR)
01

Overview

Natural cytotoxicity triggering receptor 1, commonly known as NKp46, is a major activating receptor found primarily on the surface of natural killer (NK) cells. It plays a central role in the immune system’s ability to recognize and eliminate virus-infected cells, tumor cells, and other abnormal or stressed target cells. Upon binding to its ligands, NKp46 triggers activation of NK cell cytolytic functions and cytokine production.
