NAV2 antisense RNA 1 (NAV2-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA transcribed from the opposite (antisense) strand of the NAV2 gene. As a natural antisense transcript (NAT), NAV2-AS1 regulates gene expression at different stages, including transcription and alternative splicing, and is part of a family of RNAs with emerging importance in epigenetic regulation and disease biology. While the biological function of NAV2-AS1 specifically is not fully characterized, NATs as a group are implicated in regulating gene activity, modulating chromatin organization, and contributing to pathogenic processes such as cancer and cardiovascular disease. NAV2-AS1 is not a conventional drug target, and no interacting drugs, mechanisms, or clinical biomarker applications have been reported at present.
