Target intelligence / Profile preview
NDUFA6 divergent transcript (NDUFA6-DT, also known as NDUFA6-AS1) is a long noncoding RNA located in proximity to the NDUFA6 gene. It does not code for a protein but acts chiefly as a regulatory RNA, functioning in part as a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) to sequester oncogenic miRNAs like miR-455-3p. NDUFA6-DT modulates gene expression affecting pathways involved in cell proliferation, immune response, hypoxia, synaptic signaling, adhesion, and apoptosis[1][2][5]. High or low expression of NDUFA6-DT in tumors such as gliomas is associated with different immune infiltration profiles, suggesting its relevance as an immune-regulatory lncRNA. Its altered expression is linked to tumor biology and immune signaling, and it may indirectly influence cancer progression via post-transcriptional gene regulation[2][5]. NDUFA6-DT itself is not a typical protein drug target but rather a biomolecular regulator whose dysregulation is relevant in disease contexts, especially cancer. It is under investigation as a potential prognostic or diagnostic marker, but there are currently no drugs designed specifically to modulate its function.
Not applicable; NDUFA6-DT acts mainly through regulatory interaction with microRNAs (such as miR-455-3p) and indirectly regulates protein-coding genes[2].
