NEDD4L antisense RNA 1 (NEDD4L-AS1) is a long noncoding RNA transcribed in the opposite direction to the NEDD4L gene. Antisense RNAs can regulate their sense counterparts by influencing mRNA stability, splicing, or translation. For other lncRNAs, this kind of antisense regulation has been linked to cancer progression and neurodegeneration, but specific information on NEDD4L-AS1 is limited. Most published research focuses on the protein-coding NEDD4L gene, a well-characterized E3 ubiquitin ligase involved in cancer, cardiovascular, and inflammatory diseases[1][4][5]. No evidence currently supports NEDD4L-AS1 as a direct therapeutic target. It should not be confused with NEDD4L (ubiquitin-protein ligase nedd4-like), which is an established therapeutic target in oncology and other fields[1][4][5].
