Target intelligence / Profile preview
NEDD8 pseudogene 1 (NEDD8P1) is a processed pseudogene related to the functional NEDD8 gene. Pseudogenes such as NEDD8P1 are DNA sequences similar to known genes but are nonfunctional due to mutations, lack of regulatory elements, or truncations. Unlike the functional NEDD8 gene, which encodes a ubiquitin-like protein involved in protein neddylation and important for cell cycle progression, DNA repair, and ubiquitin ligase activation[1][2][3], NEDD8P1 does not encode a functional protein and has no known biological or therapeutic relevance.
