Overview
Neisseria meningitidis Group W capsular polysaccharide is a key virulence factor and a target for vaccine development. It consists of repeating units of D-galactose and N-acetylneuraminic acid linked via α(2→6) bonds. The capsule enables the bacterium to evade the host's immune system, making it essential for survival and pathogenesis.
