The Neisseria meningitidis group C capsular polysaccharide–tetanus toxoid conjugate is a conjugate antigen used in vaccines to prevent invasive disease caused by Neisseria meningitidis serogroup C. It consists of the capsular polysaccharide from N. meningitidis group C covalently linked to tetanus toxoid protein, enhancing immunogenicity, especially in infants and young children. This conjugation converts the polysaccharide into a T-cell dependent antigen, resulting in stronger and longer-lasting immune responses, stimulating the immune system to produce protective antibodies against N. meningitidis group C. It is a key component of combination vaccines like MenQuadfi, Nimenrix and Penbraya.
