Neisseria meningitidis serogroup B (MenB) is a Gram-negative encapsulated bacterium responsible for invasive diseases. The capsule is poorly immunogenic, so vaccines target surface-exposed proteins: Factor H binding protein (fHbp), Neisserial heparin binding antigen (NHBA), Neisseria adhesin A (NadA), and PorA. Vaccines like 4CMenB (Bexsero) and Trumenba induce bactericidal antibodies to prevent disease.
