Target intelligence / Profile preview
Neisseria meningitidis group B (MenB) surface proteins are critical for the bacterium’s ability to colonize, evade host immunity, and cause meningitis and sepsis. Key proteins include factor H binding protein (fHbp), Neisserial surface protein A (NspA), and porins PorA & PorB. These proteins mediate adherence, complement inhibition, and induction of protective antibody responses. Current MenB vaccines rely on combinations of these conserved surface-exposed proteins due to poor immunogenicity of the group B capsule.
