The capsular polysaccharide antigen from Neisseria meningitidis serogroup W, chemically conjugated to a protein carrier (e.g., CRM197 or outer membrane proteins). This construct is used in vaccines to enhance immunogenicity and elicit a protective antibody response against invasive disease caused by serogroup W strains. Conjugation converts the T-cell-independent polysaccharide antigen into a T-cell-dependent antigen, resulting in improved immune responses, particularly in infants and young children.
