The Neisseria meningitidis serogroup W135 polysaccharide antigen-conjugate complex is a vaccine component designed to prevent invasive disease caused by Neisseria meningitidis serogroup W-135. The target molecule is the capsular polysaccharide specific to the W-135 serogroup, chemically conjugated to a carrier protein (diphtheria toxoid, CRM197 or tetanus toxoid) to enhance immunogenicity. This conjugation transforms the polysaccharide into a T-cell dependent antigen, eliciting robust IgG responses and immunological memory.
