Target intelligence / Profile preview
NEK2 pseudogene 2 (NEK2P2) is classified as a pseudogene, a DNA sequence similar to the functional NEK2 gene, but it is generally considered non-functional and does not encode an active protein product. NEK2P2 does not produce the serine/threonine kinase activity attributed to the NEK2 protein, which is implicated in cell cycle regulation, cancer, and centrosome separation[1][2][3][4][5]. There is no evidence that NEK2P2 acts as a therapeutic target, nor is it involved in disease pathogenesis or drug interactions.
