NEMP2-DT (NEMP2 divergent transcript) is a noncoding RNA gene associated with divergent transcription at the NEMP2 locus. Divergent transcripts generally arise from bidirectional promoter activity near protein-coding genes, often yielding unstable, short, or long noncoding RNAs[1]. The NEMP2-DT gene encodes an RNA that does not appear to produce a protein, and its function is currently unknown. There is no evidence that NEMP2-DT has biological, disease, therapeutic, or biomarker relevance. This entry may represent an annotation of a noncoding transcript and should not be considered a classical therapeutic target such as a receptor or enzyme[5][1].
