Target intelligence / Profile preview
Neuraminidase (NA) is a surface glycoprotein found on the influenza A virus H1N1 subtype. It enables newly formed virions to be released from infected host cells and prevents their aggregation. NA is a key target for antiviral drugs like oseltamivir and zanamivir, which inhibit its enzymatic activity. Resistance mutations, such as H275Y, can reduce drug efficacy.
