Neuregulin 4 (NRG4) is a member of the neuregulin protein family, primarily produced by brown adipose tissue. It functions as an adipokine, regulating energy homeostasis and glucolipid metabolism. NRG4 binds preferentially to ERBB4 receptors and has been implicated in the pathogenesis and treatment of metabolic diseases like obesity, NAFLD/NASH, and insulin resistance.
