Neurensin-2 antisense RNA 1 (NRSN2-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) that is overexpressed in ovarian cancer and promotes cancer cell proliferation, migration, and invasion both in vitro and in vivo[1][3][4][6]. Its oncogenic effects are mediated, at least in part, by acting as a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) for specific microRNAs (notably miR-744-5p), regulating downstream targets such as PRKX and stabilizing protein tyrosine kinase 2 (PTK2), which activates the β-catenin signaling pathway[1][3]. NRSN2-AS1 knockdown inhibits ovarian cancer cell malignant behaviors and tumor growth, suggesting a role as a potential biomarker, but it is not a conventional therapeutic target like a protein-coding receptor or enzyme[1][3]. There are no known interacting drugs, direct mechanisms of action for therapeutics, or notable safety concerns documented in the current literature.
