Neuromedin B is a bombesin-like peptide neuropeptide widely expressed in the mammalian central nervous system and gastrointestinal tract[1][4]. NMB binds and activates the neuromedin B receptor (NMBR), a G protein-coupled receptor, triggering intracellular signaling via G-proteins, including inhibition of adenylate cyclase, decrease in cAMP, and activation of protein kinase A and associated transcription factors, driving cell growth and anti-apoptotic responses[1][3].
