Overview
Neuropeptide Y receptor subtype 1 (Y1) is a G protein-coupled receptor that binds neuropeptide Y (NPY) and peptide YY (PYY). It is involved in the regulation of feeding behavior, blood flow, neuroendocrine function, and energy metabolism. The receptor is expressed in various brain regions, including the hypothalamus and dentate gyrus. Selective ligands are being developed to target the Y1 receptor for the treatment of appetite disorders, cardiovascular diseases, and other conditions.
