Neuropeptide Y receptor type 1 (NPY1R) is a G protein-coupled receptor that mediates the effects of neuropeptide Y (NPY), peptide YY, and pancreatic polypeptide. It is involved in diverse physiological functions including appetite regulation, vasoconstriction, cell proliferation, and modulation of anxiety. NPY1R is a potential therapeutic target for obesity and certain cancers, especially breast cancer.
