Overview
Neuropeptide Y receptor Y1 (NPY1R) is a G-protein-coupled receptor that mediates the functions of neuropeptide Y (NPY). It is involved in regulating numerous physiological and behavioral functions, including feeding behavior, energy balance, reproductive function, stress response, emotional behavior, cardiovascular function, neuronal excitability, and ethanol drinking. NPY1R has been implicated in the pathophysiology of obesity and metabolic disorders. It shows high affinity for NPY and peptide YY (PYY).
