Neurotensin receptor 1 (NTSR1)

Target
NTSR1
Molecular classification
G protein-coupled receptor, GPCR, Receptor, Class A GPCR, Rhodopsin-like GPCR

Overview

Neurotensin receptor 1 (NTSR1) is a G protein-coupled receptor that mediates diverse physiological effects through neurotensin signaling. It is involved in processes like hypotension, hyperglycemia, hypothermia, antinociception, and regulation of intestinal motility and secretion. It has been implicated in Parkinson’s disease and Schizophrenia. Several high-resolution structures are available for NTSR1, complexed with peptide agonists, non-peptide agonists, partial agonists, antagonists/inverse agonists, and in the ligand-free state.
